I love the way this turned out! I had my doubts – but it all worked out in the end. So, Prompt #1 in my little #carolg_jan16 challenge is complete and I’m going to love wearing this coffee mani for a few days.
While doing research on what I wanted to do to my nails this time around, I ended up on eBay and ordered some new plates – one of which is fully coffee themed. I’m so excited for it to get here – but it might not be here till the end of February… so not for this mani. 🙁
I thought about trying to draw coffee beans on my nails, but balked against the idea because the whole reason I began nail stamping is so I don’t have to draw on the tiny pallet of my nail. Even though I’m a graphic designer, I find true nail artists to be pretty impressive! I can no more draw the Mona Lisa than I can a straight line – or coffee bean as it might be – on my nails. To be blessed with some of the talent out there – wow, is all I can say!
I have to thank my mother for pointing out the coffee cup on one of my Pueen plates – I didn’t even know I had it! That made this a much easier task. And so did the Crystal Jelly Stamper my husband got me for Christmas! I didn’t have to guess at all on the placement for the coffee mug. It turned out perfect on the first try – on BOTH NAILS! Love it on first use. The rest of the design was rounded out with these cool retro circles on a VAGA plate. I thought about adding some sparkle to it, but decided to just leave it be.
So that’s about it! Let me know what you think below.
