Metallic Ombre: A Gradient Nail

ombre3As I set out on this ombre (aka gradient) manicure, I had the final vision of an animal print stamped on top in black of this. But, once I got the base for the stamp down, I liked it so much I didn’t want to add anything else. I thought I’d wear it alone for a few hours and see if I changed my mind. Nope. Love it as-is. So, I left it alone. Isn’t it pretty?! This picture does not do it justice. It’s very vibrant and sparkly. I have yet to figure out how everyone seems to be able to capture holo polishes so well. Here’s another one – more directly lit by the sunlight. A little better, but still – not as vibrant as the real thing.

Just love it!! With Valentine’s day just around the corner I see myself doing this with all kinds of  these “french ombres” in different colors. Ombre seems to be the first real “nail art” technique I can really do – it’s easy and it’s pretty.

So, anyone out there have any suggestions on how to capture better images of my painted nails? If so, please leave your suggestions in the comments below.
