Pale, Pale, Purple with Hearts

purple_heartI don’t have very many bottles of purple polish to choose from in my collection, so this prompt for the SNDFeb16 challenge has been a little difficult for me.

I started out doing a gradient with white and this light purple (shown above), with the intent to stamp in white on top of it, but I did not like the way it looked on my nails, so I took it off and went with a solid coat of the purple polish and topped it with a heart stamp in silver. I’m still not entirely happy with it – but I think that’s because i just don’t like Lilac colored polish on my nails. It doesn’t go well with my skintone so it’s kind like wearing a shirt you don’t really feel comfortable in.

Anyway, lesson learned. I have a really pretty China Glaze purple called “Mix and Mingle” I may play with before the next prompt is due to see if I can come up with a combination I like better. Regardless, this one does have a subtle sweetness to it I do like. It’s a nice, understated romantic look, great for the week before Valentine’s Day.
