Shell Pink and Swirly Stamping

Shell-PinkAfter the deep dark beautiful Valentine’s Day red nails I needed a change. The #SNDFeb16 challenge prompt for today is “Pink” and was the perfect solution!

The base of this look is a color I hadn’t used before; Revlon’s Brilliant Strength 060 Allure. It is soooo pretty – the photo does not capture the subtle pink shimmery glow at all. And belive me, I tried. I think I took about 100 pictures before I finally settled on this one. It looks like the inside of a seashell. Gorgeous! It took three coats to get a full coverage but once that was down, I topped it with the white swirls. (This is one of my very favorite stamps.) After that, I decided it needed just wee bit more – and added a very light coat of a shimmery pink polish on top and sealed it all in with a topcoat. Ta-da! We have a final look.

This morning I wasn’t sure I liked it as much. It almost looks too wedding-ish and formal – but it is pretty and it does go with everything, so that counts for something in my book. What do you think – is this a look I can wear every day or should this color combination be left for fancier occasions?
