Monochromatic Dots and Circles

Polka Dots. I’m not a big fan of them. Never have been. At an early age, my father said something about “polka dots are for bimbos” or something along those lines and it stuck with me. I have occasionally seen polka dots use in classy ways, but mostly – especially in clothing – I just don’t like’em.

Now, there are some really cool dotticures I’ve totally fallen in love with. It’s those gradient dots with a bunch of different colors…. like the one picture below, but I’m scared to even try them. I just don’t have enough technique yet to master this yet. I know. It looks so simple. I’m just too chicken at this point. But isn’t it pretty?!

Why am I even talking about dots if I don’t really care for them anyway? Well – it’s ClaireStelle and her May challenge. The prompt for the 4th is, you guessed it: dots! There have been all kinds of creative designs submitted too – that aren’t even polka dot related. Here are a few of the ones I think are really cool:

And here’s what I came up with for my own “dots” look:

Monochromatic Dots and Circles

It’s a gray stamp on a shimmery silver base (I thought it’d show up better) and I used my homemade dotting tool to add in the black dots. It’s not my favorite of all mani’s, but I don’t dislike it as much as I thought I would when I finished it up last night. In fact, I even got a compliment on it today. 🙂 I like it when that happens.

That’s about all there is to this simple, monochromatic manicure. As are many of my mani’s, it’s completely office appropriate and able to be worn in a professional environment. Thanks for stopping by!
