Working for a radio station has some really awesome perks. One of those perks is working events and therefore getting to go to them and check them out – and some of those events are concerts. 🙂 In Kansas, we have a huge country music event each June. If you’re from around the area you’ve probably heard of it. The Kicker Country Stampede. It’s a three day festival centered around country music. This year the headliners were Dierks Bentley, Sam Hunt, Tim McGraw, and Jake Owen. There were other great artists too. And I got to go for two of those days – mainly to work (of course, right?) but I also had time to listen to some great music and peruse the bazillion vendors there. It was hot and there were a ton of people, but it was a good time. And excuse to do up my nails, of course!!
I wish I had thought to get a photo of my nails WITH my prescribed tee on – one was royal purple, the other was black. (You sweat so much in the Kansas summer heat they give you one for each day.) Here’s a snapshot of the logo – see the swirly fringe around the edges of the logo? That’s the main inspiration for these nails. The copper color matched the orange in the logo perfectly. 🙂
I created it with a double stamp from one plate. I just laid down the white, then the copper, and topped it with black. It came out fantastic and went with the uniform just perfectly. Here’s a shot of it in the sunshine. Totally fun. Totally Stampede. It reminds me of the scrollwork on saddles and boots.
Have you ever been to Stampede? Do you do your nails special for concerts or festivals? If so, let me know about it in the comments below. Here are the products I used to achieve this look:
