Hi and welcome to my blog! I’m Carol, I’m 40 years old and from the United States. I love my darling techie husband; Seth, animals (we have 2 furbabies; Daemon the dog and Angel the cat), all things creative, cooking, reading, my wonderful family – and polish of course!
I am fairly new to the world of polish. In my twenties, I did a short stint with acrylics, but tired of them quickly. After realizing how badly they’d ruined my nails, I quit wearing polish for a very long time. Then, about a year and a half ago, I read this pin from Honeymunchkin’s website:
And it changed everything for me. I was tired of my boring, naked nails and wanted to do something with them. Shortly thereafter, I had a wedding to go to, and put some pearly white polish on. I loved the way it looked and haven’t looked back. I don’t think my nails have seen more than three naked days since then and remember distinctly telling my husband I “liked having my nails look pretty.” I’ve spent countless hours on YouTube watching many other very skilled bloggers do their thing and gleaning tidbits of knowledge from each of them. I absolutely LOVE doing my nails!
I’m starting this blog as a way to document my designs and the evolution of my nail art. I’ve recently begun to do nail stamping and there are so many other neat techniques to try on my nails – I just want to keep a record, or diary, of what I’ve done – hence the name of this blog: Nail Diary.
The rest of my life revolves around my job. I’m a graphic designer for a radio station in the midwest. The radio group I work for has three – soon to be four(!) stations I do promotions and website work for. Every event, every giveaway and every promotion any of the radio stations have going on, I am in charge of getting the info onto the appropriate website. I do some freelance work too, but am cutting back on that as my job keeps me pretty busy most of the time. And, frankly, I love doing so many other things I don’t want to spend ALL my time in front of the computer! If interested, you can check out my design portfolio at: Cottonwood Whispers.
And, you may be wondering – no, we do not have any children. It’s a long sad story, and at this point still no kiddos in our life. I assure you though, it’s not from lack of trying! We’ve run the full gamut and been through massive heartbreak with nothing to show for it – we think in the next year we may try fostering – but that’s a whole different part of our lives.
